The Center is available to all Ocean County residents and specializes in assisting people who are considering a career change or those seeking information on new careers. Services include:
- Obtaining required certification or licensures
- Upgrading current career skills
- Referrals to other agencies and institutions
- Planning technical, business or college education
- Re-entry into the world of work
- Educational funding
Three Part Process
Part 1- You will work with an interactive computer to get specific information to your career questions. Then you will take an interest inventory and specialized vocational testing administered by Career Center personnel.
Part 2- Test results will be returned and interpreted by the vocational counselor who will help you select a new career path.
Part 3- A vocational counselor will meet with you to help in selecting training courses for programs at hundreds of training institutions, with planning a job search and designing resumes. Information on funding for post-secondary and/or college level training will be provided.

For information or to set up an appointment, call 732.473.3100, ext.3129 at any time and leave a message on the voice mail service. All calls will be returned in the evening from 6:30-9:30. There is a $140 fee for any and all services at the Skills Center
