    OCVTS Hold Nurse Capping Ceremony

    OCEAN COUNTY, NEW JERSEY -Ocean County Vocational Technical School (OCVTS) recognized fifty-seven Practical Nursing students for their completion of over 868 hours of training in the first half of the comprehensive nursing program. Each student received the traditional nurse’s cap from their instructors at the ceremony.

The workshop, coordinated by Dan Yurowski from Ford Corporation focused on several aspects of career training and employment opportunities.

    OCVTS Feed the Need 2015 Prepares 3,000 Meals for Local Families!

    BRICK, NEW JERSEY Students and staff at the Ocean County Vocational Technical School’s Brick Center partnered again this year with the Food Bank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties and prepared 3,000 Thanksgiving meals which were distributed through local social service agencies to those in need.

    OCEAN COUNTY, OCVTS New Home Construction student, Albertina Brea has been recognized as the Monmouth Ocean Development Council Education Foundation 2015 scholarship recipient.The five hundred dollar scholarship donated by Paul Barlo & Associates, Architects, of Brick, New Jersey is given each year to an Ocean County Vocational Technical School student pursuing a career path in architecture, engineering or building construction.

    OCVTS Welding Student Forging Ahead In A New Career

    OCEAN COUNTY, NEW JERSEY Lola Duallo is a student in the two-year Welding Program at Ocean County Vocational Technical School in Toms River. While Lola is not the only female in the welding program she is indeed unique. Ms. Dualla is the first female to be accepted into the Atlantic City Ironworkers Local Union 35 and for this 18-year-old from Manahawkin, that is quite a feat.

    OCVTS and Habitat for Humanity Partnership Begins Construction on Second Home

    OCEAN COUNTY - Ocean County Vocational Technical School (OCVTS) and Northern Ocean Habitat for Humanity held a Groundbreaking Ceremony for a second new home construction in Berkeley Township. Through a unique partnership with Northern Ocean Habitat for Humanity, OCVTS developed the New Home Construction Program last year . This 10-month accelerated construction trades training program for adult students provides real-world experience and hands-on skills.

    OCEAN COUNTY, NEW JERSEY Dawn Parry, an incoming senior at the Ocean County Vocational Technical School's Marine Academy of Technology and Environmental Science (MATES), was one of eight high school seniors from across the US selected to participate in the prestigious Nautilus Exploration Program. The Nautilus Progam was founded by Dr. Robert Ballard, the marine scientist who had discovered the Titanic ruins.

The Barnegat Bay Blitz is a collaboration of residents, students, businesses and local governments to protect and preserve Barnegat Bay and the surrounding 660 square mile watershed.
