OCEAN COUNTY, NEW JERSEY The Toms River-ocean County Chamber of Commerce presented Ocean County Vocational Technical School with the Pinnacle Philanthropic Leadership Award for Outstanding Leadership in Education. An organization must have been a past recipient of the "Organization of the Year' and remain involved and committed to the community to be nominated for the Pinnacle Award.

Another Great Year For Ocvts At Robotics Competition

TOMSRIVER, NEW JERSEY OCVTS students walked away with multiple awards from the annual Tech Prep Robotics Competition held recently at Ocean County College. High school and middle school students from throughout the county designed robotic vehicles using materials from standard kits and adhering to competition guidelines.

DES MOINES, IOWA - Jordan Coughlin of Ocean County Vocational Technical HS was among the top students in the country selected to attend the World Food Prize Global Youth Institute Oct. 13-15, 2011, in Des Moines, Iowa, during the Norman E. Borlaug International Symposium, which drew 1,400 people from 75 countries to discuss the world’s hunger and food security issues.

OCVTS Holds Apprenticeship Graduation Ceremony

OCEAN COUNTY, NEW JERSEY The Ocean County Vocational Technical School’s Apprenticeship Trades Certificate Awards Ceremony marked the end of a long four-year journey for forty-four men and women. The OCVTS Apprenticeship programs require students to attend 144 hours per year of trade-related classroom instruction while logging 2000 hours of on-the-job training with an employer who sponsors the student.

National Bakery Technicians, Hugh Goettner and Kate O’Brien, demonstrated baking techniques and commercial applications for some of Dawn Foods’ frozen doughs and pre-formed puff pastry products.
