    THE 22nd ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL CHEF’S NIGHT OUT

    OCEAN COUNTY, NEW JERSEY -The Annual International Chef’s Night Out is the largest fundraising event of the year for the Ocean County Foundation for Vocational Technical Education. The event, which took place Monday March 12th, was a great success. Forty four food, beverage and dessert vendors provided endless options for an incredible evening of sweet and savory sampling. Attendees had the chance to vote for their favorites and several participating vendors were recognized and received trophies:

    • Senor Sangria, Maplewood, NJ – Best Beverage Sampling
    • Sweet Marie’s Bakery, Point Pleasant, NJ – Best Sweet Treat Sampling
    • Saker Shop Rite, Freehold, NJ – Best Presentation/Display
    • Breeze’s Bar & Grill/Allen’s Clam Bar, New Gretna, NJ – First Place, People Choice Award
    • Eagle Ridge Golf Club, Lakewood, NJ – Second Place, People’s Choice Award
    • Office Lounge/The Villa, Toms River, NJ - Third Place, People’s Choice Award

    In addition, there was an incredible gift auction featuring over 104 gift baskets, which raised over $10,000. Chris Wachtler and Mustasa Amer, from Eppy’s Auto Sales in Toms River were the winners of the mega 50/50 raffle which yielded $4,500 to the winners. The event raised over $60,000 which will be used to fund student scholarships as well as grants for OCVTS equipment and technology. The Foundation was established in 1994 to help ensure a quality education for the students of Ocean County Vocational Technical School (OCVTS). It was formed by a group of corporate and community leaders in Ocean County. The Foundation provides funding through scholarships for OCVTS students and grants which allows OCVTS instructors and staff to purchase equipment and materials to enhance their training curriculum.
