OCEAN COUNTY, NEW JERSEY- Ocean County Vocational Technical School teachers, administrators and students along with Ocean County officials got to see the final result of a generous donation made by the Hirair and Anna Hovnanian Foundation to the OCVTS Toms River Center during a ribbon cutting ceremony and reception on Sept. 12. Ocean County Freeholder Joseph H. Vicari, liaison to the county’s award winning vo-tech schools joined with Freeholder Director Virginia E. Haines and Freeholder Gary Quinn in presenting a proclamation from the Board of Freeholders to Edele Hovnanian and the Foundation recognizing their outstanding contribution of $1.25 million which resulted in the creation of a cutting edge simulated nursing laboratory, the purchase of new culinary equipment and the remodeling of the exterior of the OCVTS Toms River Center.

    Message From School Administration:
Yesterday we had the ribbon cutting of our Toms River Center (pic attached). We thanked Edele Hovnanian for her contribution of 1.25 million for the project, a new nursing lab and a growing cabinet for the culinary program at Brick. She generously donated these monies because she wanted students to feel proud about the building that they walked into to learn every day. She noticed while driving by one day that it was dated.
She pledged to continue her partnership with OCVTS and wholeheartedly believes in vocational education. In her speech, she said, "Vocational Education is a Calling not a Compromise", all of us at OCVTS know that it is true......

But to hear her say it in front on the big crowd gathered, it was awesome!!!!!! Thanks to all of you who helped in the event and for making it spectacular.

    Frank J. Frazee
    School Business Administrator/Board Secretary
