    2011 CAREER ACADEMIES ADMISSION INFORMATION SESSIONS

    COMPETITIVE! CHALLENGING! HIGH SCHOOL AT ITS BEST!
    OCVTS career academies are four-year public high schools administered by the Ocean County Vocational Technical School District. Students are selected through a competitive application process and enter at the ninth grade level. All school districts in Ocean County are eligible to submit applications for these programs. Application deadline is December 10.

    The Admission Information Session provides an opportunity to tour the facilities, speak with administrators and faculty, and receive an in-depth overview of the academy approach to learning. STUDENTS RECEIVE ADMISSION MATERIALS AT THE INFORMATION SESSIONS.

    Marine Academy of Technology & Environmental Science
    HOW BIG IS YOUR CLASSROOM?

    The Marine Academy of Technology and Environmental Science (MATES) is a four-year public highschool administered by the Ocean County Vocational Technical School District. The school existswithin the community to provide a unique and challenging hands-on learning experience for collegebound and career-oriented students interested in pursuing a career in the marine and environmentalsciences. MATES has been designed to give its students a rigorous academic curriculum withconcentration in the areas of math, science, and technology. Students are selected from applications through a competitive process and enter at the ninthgrade level. All school districts in Ocean County are eligible to participate in sending applications tothe program.

    The Performing Arts Academy is a four-year public high school administered by the Ocean CountyVocational Technical School District. The Academy is designed to provide performing arts curriculafocused in dance, vocal music, and acting, along with a rigorous college preparatory academicprogram. The school exists to provide a unique and challenging learning environment for studentsliving in Ocean County who are gifted in the performing arts. Students are selected from applicationsthrough a competitive process and enter at the ninth grade level. All school districts in Ocean Countyare eligible to participate in sending applications to the program.
