    What is SkillsUSA?

    2010 SkillsUSA Competition & Open HouseSkillsUSA is a national organization which provides quality education experiences for students in leadership, teamwork, citizenship and character development. Students representing all OCVTS centers will participate in career program competitions using the skills of their trades at both the regional and state level. Winners will advance to the state level competitions in May.

    Prize drawings, job demonstrations, business and program displays will be presented during this Open House Event.

    OCVTS HOSTS SKILLSUSA COMPETITION

    You're Invited!


    On Saturday, February 4th Ocean County Vocational technical School (OCVTS) will host the Regional SkillsUSA Competition at the OCVTS Brick Center, 350 Chambers Bridge Road, from 9AM to 1PM.

    Students from OCVTS, as well as those from other New Jersey vocational and technical schools will compete using the skills of their trades for regional honors, and in some categories for preliminary state honors.

    SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to promote the growth and development of a skilled workforce in America. Many of the regional winners will move on to statewide competition in May.

    Activities will begin at 9AM and continue until 1PM. In addition to the contests in individual career programs, there will be skills demonstrations, business and program displays, and refreshments will be available throughout the day. The public is encouraged to attend this Open House event.
