Ocean County Foundation For Vocational Technical Education
The Ocean County Foundation for Vocational Technical
Education was established in 1994 to help ensure a quality
education for the students of Ocean County Vocational
Technical School (OCVTS). It was formed by a group of
corporate and community leaders in Ocean County. The
group is independent of, though fully supported by,
the OCVTS District.
The mission of this educational foundation is to augment,
supplement, and compliment OCVTS programs through the
attraction of private resources for the exclusive benefit
of students and staff. Contributions to the Foundation
are eligible for the maximum federal income tax deduction
(this is not intended as tax advice, check with your
tax/legal advisor). The Foundation's work is focused
on the employability of OCVTS students by providing
its support in the following three areas:
1 - FACILITATE STUDENT DEVELOPMENT
The Foundation provides funds for learning and training
activities beyond the core curriculum and provides equipment
and facilitates not funded through other means. It encourages
excellence through creative learning. Also, donations
support professional growth of staff and provide venture
capital for creative ideas and programs.
2 - PROMOTE COMMUNITY / SCHOOL PARTNERSHIPS
The Foundation promotes community awareness of educational
challenges and solutions and develops enrichment programs
to address the needs of OCVTS and the community it serves.
3 - TECHNOLOGY AND TRAINING
Provides resources for equipment and training in the
most recent technologies used in the workplace and for
the development of innovative technologies in teaching
and learning.
