For over 40 years, The Ocean
County Vocational Technical School has prepared
young adults to meet the needs of an ever-changing society
and job market. Our students and programs consistently
win recognition and awards for their outstanding accomplishments.
With rapidly changing technology,
O.C.V.T.S. has made a commitment to keep pace
with electronic and computer advancements and to challenge
traditional and non-traditional students to excel in
the 21st Century.
Signed into law on October 31, 1998, The Carl D. Perkins
Vocational and Technical Education Act of 1998 (Perkins
III) sets out a new vision of vocational and technical
education for the 21st century. The central goals of
this new vision are improving student achievement and
preparing students for post secondary education, further
learning, and career.

NJ
STARS Program
NJ STARS is an exciting
new initiative in New Jersey that provides
Ocean County's brightest students with
free tuition at Ocean County College.
Governor McGreevey recently announced
his commitment to fund the New Jersey
Student Tuition Assistance Reward Scholarship
(NJ STARS) program, which will provide
tuition and fees for up to five semesters
at a community college to students who
graduate in the top 20 percent of their
class.

OCVTS
and OCC Tech Prep Agreement
Ocean County College
and the Ocean County Vocational Technical
School (OCVTS) recently signed a Computer
Science Tech Prep articulation agreement.
This agreement allows OCVTS high school
students to earn up to 12 advanced credits
towards an Ocean County College computer
studies degree.
