The GDT program emphasizes preparation for both employment and continuing education at a post secondary institution, while offering Tech Prep agreements with three colleges. Post secondary students have the option to attend full-time, two sessions per day, for an intensive completion of the program in a single year. Students select from sixteen ten-week courses consisting of traditional and digital skills required in various visual art and communication careers.
Art Courses cover the creation of computerized art for print production, video and electronic media. Includes: Art for Reproduction, Electronic Art and Design, Intro to Digital Video and Animation and Web Design.
Photography Courses cover the techniques of traditional and digital photography in advertising, portraiture and fine art. Includes: Digital Photography, Desktop Publishing, Wet Lab Photography and Studio Lighting.
Printing Courses emphasize the use of current technologies in printing and graphic reproduction. Includes: Graphic Techniques, Press Operation,
Screen Printing and Production Graphics.
Computer Technology Courses cover the techniques of visual communication technology, page design and employability skills. Includes: Introduction to Computer Technology, Related Technology Skills, Career and Employability Skills and Electronic Portfolio.
