Cosmetology (Tech Prep)

This Tech Prep program teaches skills and the knowledge necessary to pass the New Jersey State Board of Cosmetology licensing exam. The skills taught relate to the major areas of instruction including hair services, skin and nail services, business management and barbering. In school clinical experiences provide hands-on training. High school and adult applicants will be required to pass a written examination for admission. Good attendance is critical for completion of hourly requirements to sit for licensing exam. Adults may attend cosmetology programs full-time between 2-7 PM daily or in the evening (Mon, Tues, Thurs). See full-time adult programs for description. A Tech Prep agreement with Ocean County College enables students to receive up to 12 college credits towards a small business management certificate upon successful completion of the New Jersey State Cosmetology Board.
