It combines knowledge of the ecology of living systems with the study of environmentally safe practices in the areas of landscape design and construction, turf management, aquatic gardening, irrigation and integrated pest management. Students will have access to cutting edge technology, field work and research practices through a partnership established with Rutgers Center for Turf Grass Science. Students will utilize the OCVTS greenhouse and land laboratory for their practical applications. Students will benefit from partnerships with local golf courses, participate in site internships, attend professional seminars, conference and industry trade shows. Extensive use of computer technology will be emphasized. Active participation in FFA, the national student organization that is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education is encouraged.
