Marine Science II (Tech - Prep)

The second year of the Marine Science program builds on what was learned in Marine Science I. The second year course is an environmentally based program consisting of possible college credits from Ocean County College for students who qualify. Topics covered include oceanography, ecology (ocean and land), microbiology, Pinelands ecology, and government regulations. The environmentally based program utilizes a hands-on approach. Students will attend various field and vessel trips including New Jersey State Parks, Ocean County Park and Barnegat Bay. Students will conduct independent research projects and will be qualified for internship in laboratories, field work, environmental agencies, pollution control or industry. Students must have completed Chemistry and must have completed or must be concurrently taking Algebra II.
