This program links lecture material and lab work to establish a hands-on approach to learning about network technology and security practices. Working in small teams, the students will work with a variety of Networking Operating Systems. The student will gain extensive experience with various network hardware components and protocols. Network and Internet/Intranet security issues will be explored utilizing video servers and web-video streaming. At the end of the program, the student will have a comprehensive, practical background in networks and network technologies that will help them pursue an associate’s degree in a related field, various related certifications or licensing exams or entry level positions as a computer network installation, configuration and support technician.
