School Safety |

The Ocean County Vocational Technical School (OCVTS) is committed to providing our students and families with the most current information about the coronavirus as well as other health related updates. We continue to monitor information from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) about cases of the coronavirus in the United States. The New Jersey Department of Health and New Jersey Department of Education have listed the following guidelines for the prevention of the spread of the flu, coronavirus and other viruses:
OCVTS has increased daily cleaning and sanitizing of all of our schools, buses and high touch surfaces.
- Any school or district closures will be directed by either the New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH) or the health officer of our jurisdiction.
- All OCVTS building and instructional operations are continuing under normal conditions, with the exception of a restricted visitation policy.
- All school-sponsored field trips, large assemblies and events are postponed until further notice.
- Currently, OCVTS has NO reported cases of COVID-19. If your children are sick, please keep them home.
- OCVTS continuously monitors New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE), NJDOH and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to assess changing conditions.
The Department of Education recommends that parents with a child who (within the past two weeks) has traveled to an area that has been impacted by the coronavirus to contact their child's principal and/or school nurse prior to returning to school.
If you have an upcoming travel plan, we encourage you to check the CDC website listed below for the latest travel guidelines prior to your trip as well as upon your return. Click Here
