Dear Parents and Guardians:

In these uncertain times, America finds itself at various stages of alert. Governor McGreevy has suggested that New Jersey public schools review their emergency procedures. The safety of our students is our top priority. At Ocean County Vocational-Technical Schools Toms River Center we have been reviewing our responses to any situations that might put students and staff at risk.

If there is a crisis, but our school is not directly involved, we will monitor the situation closely and continue with the normal school day.

If there is a crisis that could affect our school, we will work closely with local officials and the Office of Emergency Management to determine the most appropriate response. Students will remain in the building if this is the safest course of action or we will evacuate the building if necessary. In the event of an emergency situation requiring students to be removed from our building area, it is planned the post secondary pupils will be released to their cars and high school students will be picked up by home school transportation and returned to their high school.

We have been working with the students to update your home or work phone numbers. Please check the following sources for current information.

  1. Radio Station 92.7
  2. Website http://www.ocvts.org
  3. Local cable stations

We are working diligently to provide open lines of communication with parent/guardians and to insure the safety of our students. If you need to contact us, our phone number continues to be 732-473-3100.

Sincerely,

Craig R. Coleman
Principal
