Marking Period 4 Project

Complete a special project for the fourth marking period. Design a web site for a real-world, non-profit organization as a volunteer, not-for-pay, community service. Your teacher will determine if an organization is appropriate and assist you in determining what type of web site should be developed. You may use class time to develop the web site, practicing what you have learned over the course, and learn how to upload the web pages. You will be able to see your work on-line, for real. First make sure you fully understand what we are about:

  2. Begin designing the web pages
  3. Use Microsoft Word to write a one-paragraph statement describing the web pages you are going to create or modify

  1. Submit a 1-page sketch of what your web site will look like
  2. Show the major pages
  3. Show the major linkages

  1. Begin collecting images to use

05/09/05 Monday
  1. Begin site design/redesign
  2. Recycle and Carpool Sites - begin design
  3. Choose colors, fonts, layout of pages
  4. Continue acquiring images to be used

05/10/05 Tuesday
  1. Continue site design/redesign
  2. Determine how the user will interact with your site: buttons, links, images, imagemaps, rollovers, etc.
  3. Begin creating the actual site using the colors, fonts, layouts you've chosen

05/11/05 Wednesday
  1. Continue site design/redesign
  2. As you add pages to your site, create and test the menus and links that the user will use to navigate
  3. Carpool site: consider the database you will need, tables and fields
