Welcome to Computer Science with Mr. Clarke at Ocean County Vocational Technical School, Toms River Center, NJ, for the 2008-2009 school year.

Opportunity for Extra Credit: Send an e-mail to mclarke@mail.ocvts.org before September 8th, the first full week of school. Ask for extra credit and let me know how much you look forward to learning all about web design this school year.

Computer Science is a two-year course; students may take one or both years. Each year is self-contained, one year does not precede the other. Last year we studied computer programming using PCs.

This is website year. We'll learn website design using (Macromedia Dreamweaver or Microsoft Expression Web) and HTML commands, programming using JavaScript and (ASP or PHP), database theory using Microsoft Access and SQL, and website graphics using Macromedia Flash. By the end of the year we'll be creating advanced, interactive, user-friendly websites.

From this home page you can look at an overview of what we'll learn this year or read more about your instructor, Mr. Clarke. You may jump directly to marking period 1 page to view lessons and assignments. You can see a calendar of the school year or look at a list of reference links. You may also look at career links or other interesting links.

Be sure to visit the CompSci Blog and the CompSci Wiki where students may read what other students are thinking and doing and may post their own thoughts and deeds.

You may also review what was covered during past years. A list of links to other websites designed and maintained by Mr. Clarke is located at his Bayshore website.

The quick-jump-menu you see on the left will show on every page to make it easier for you to find your way around this site.

Come in, browse around, and learn as much as you can.

If you think education is expensive, try ignorance!
