This program engages students in all aspects of custom carpentry as it relates to woodworking fabrication and related installation and design techniques. Students utilize our shop to develop proficiency in all aspects of custom carpentry and woodworking. This program enables students to learn the basics of project design and layout, while also teaching them the necessary skills for a successful career in woodworking, finished carpentry and related trades. Beyond the fundamentals, our students develop a proficiency in remodeling techniques, basic drywall projects, safe and proper use of power tools, woodworking machines and hands on skills. Students will then learn to complete custom molding projects, built in furnishings and installation of decorative elements such as kitchen cabinetry, tile installation and ornamental wood design. With the addition of new equipment such as Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) machinery and software, the students will be taking the next step into this exciting and dynamic career field.
