LEGAL STUDIES & PARALEGAL PRACTICE

This program provides a foundational understanding of the U.S. legal system, with a focus on the essential skills and knowledge required for a successful career in the legal field. Students will gain insight into the structure and function of the court system, key areas of law (such as contract, criminal, tort, and family law), and the critical role of paralegals in supporting attorneys and assisting clients. Emphasis is placed on legal research, case management, drafting legal documents, and maintaining professional ethics. Through real-world examples and practical exercises, students will develop skills in legal writing, document organization, and conducting client interviews. This course also covers procedural aspects of litigation, evidence handling, and an overview of legal technology tools essential in today’s practice. Upon completion, students will be prepared for entry-level roles in a legal setting or to pursue further specialized studies in the field of law.
