COMPUTER NETWORKING & CYBERSECURITY

Ignite your future in the fast-paced world of Information Technology! This program is perfect for high school and post-secondary students eager to pursue careers in computer networking, including roles such as Computer Network Administrator/Engineer, Network Architect, Computer Security Specialist, and Network and Systems Administrator.
Computer IT Essentials: Gain hands-on experience managing and troubleshooting PCs and Apple systems. Explore microprocessors (CPU), RAM, BIOS, motherboards, power supplies, hard drives, removable media, and more. Learn to install and upgrade Windows, Linux, Mac OS, iOS, and Android, navigate the command line, troubleshoot hardware and software, configure input devices, video cards, printers, mobile devices, and secure computers and networks. Build and configure complete systems through engaging lab activities.
Network Support Technician: Students will learn the skills needed for entry-level networking careers. Students will learn concepts and topics including foundational knowledge and skills needed to show how networks operate, including the devices, media, and protocols that enable network communications.
Network Associate: Master networking fundamentals, IP services, security basics, and modern automation and programmability techniques to thrive in an ever-evolving IT landscape. Recommended Skills: Basic computer knowledge and a strong interest in technology and networking will help you excel in this hands-on, career-focused program.


COMPUTER SCIENCE
2 YEAR / 900 HOURS / TOMS RIVER
This challenging and fast-paced program offers students an in-depth exploration of information technology and data science, preparing them for college-level studies and future careers in high-demand fields such as software engineering, systems analysis, web development, and data science. Students engage in rigorous coursework that emphasizes problem-solving, programming, and analytical thinking through hands-on projects and real-world applications. Core topics include information systems and computer applications, object-oriented design and programming using Java, data science and machine learning with Python and R, website development with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP, and database design using SQL. Students also explore emerging technologies that shape the rapidly evolving world of computer science. Working with state-of-the-art technology and high-speed internet, students gain practical experience using industry tools and software. This program is designed for motivated learners who thrive in a rigorous academic environment. Familiarity with desktop computers, the Google Suite, and standard web applications are recommended.
*An articulation agreement with Ocean County College allows eligible students to earn advanced college credit upon successful completion of the program.


ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY
2 YEAR / 900 HOURS / JACKSON
Engineering Technology is an authentic makerspace equipped with machinery used in industry, designed to meet the current and emerging workforce needs in the advanced manufacturing industry. Students in the program will explore the production of metal and plastic products through manual and automated processes. Completers of this program will acquire a diverse and well-rounded set of academic and technical skills that will prepare them to enter the workforce and/or college. Students interested in pursuing a degree in engineering will have the opportunity to gain an understanding of the capabilities and limitations of production machinery. This knowledge is valuable to aspiring engineers as they will possess a well-rounded understanding of the production process, allowing them to problem-solve and troubleshoot design challenges before they hit the production floor. We do this using project-based learning that will take the students through the prototyping and development process all the way through the production process. Areas of study include: Computer Numerical Control (CNC) theory/operations, interpreting engineering drawings, quality control, production planning, digital read-out skills, metal fabrication, GTAW (TIG) welding, GMAW (MIG) welding, precision measurement and analysis, manual machining operations, workplace safety (OSHA-10), Robotics, and 3D printing. Students can earn HAAS certification for basic mill operator. Recommended Skills: Basic computer skills, strong math and language skills.
