These project-based scholarships will recognize excellence in Immersive Audio and Atmos Soundtrack (Audio + Video) projects, directly supporting the district’s mission to prepare students for continued education and success in rapidly evolving audio technology industry. This partnership also creates pathways for internships, mentorships, and potential career opportunities with KEF, its industry partners, and across the broader music, film, and media production landscape. Students from Full-Time, Shared-Time, and Adult Education Audio Programs, as well as participants in the Film Club and Tech Club, will benefit from the expanded opportunities and resources this collaboration brings. “We are thrilled to partner with KEF Audio to give our students access to real-world, cutting-edge experiences,” said Willam Bourke, Audio Engineering Instructor. “Through this collaboration, our Audio Engineering students are developing the technical expertise and creative confidence needed to excel in today’s audio and sound engineering environments.” To celebrate the kickoff workshop, KEF surprised students with apparel and merchandise giveaways, as well as three sets of Nothing Headphones—a newly released product born from KEF’s strategic collaboration with the audio technology company Nothing—awarded to students who demonstrated exceptional engagement and curiosity during the session. “KEF is excited about our partnership with OCVTS and the chance to connect with the next generation of audio and film makers at the start of their journey,” said David Kroll, Vice President of KEF America. “The high level of interest and engagement from the students during the workshop is a testament to the dedication and caliber of those enrolled in the Audio Engineering Program.” The OCVTS Audio Engineering Program continues to lead in providing students with innovative, hands-on experiences that align with industry trends—ensuring graduates remain current with evolving technologies and are well-prepared for future careers in the audio engineering industry. • OCVTS Leads the Charge on Unity Day to Help End Bullying

OCVTS stands together in helping to create a world without bullying! We stood together and wore orange on October 16 to show unity for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. PROGRAM AREA \ COURSE OF STUDY OCT 16, 2024 OCVTS Leads the Charge on Unity Day to Help End Bullying OCVTS Leads the Charge on Unity Day to Help End Bullying Nicholas Spiech, OCVTS OCT 16, 2024 The Ocean County Vocational Technical School District stands together in helping to create a world without bullying! We stood together and wore orange on October 16 to show unity for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion and to send a visible message that no child should ever experience bullying. Unity Day, started by PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center as the signature event of National Bullying Prevention Month continues to grow every year as a tangible representation of the universal message that our society wants to promote kindness, acceptance and inclusion to prevent bullying. Why unity? For years, bullying was justified with expressions such as, “Bullying is a natural part of childhood,” “Bullying makes kids tougher,” or “Bullying is a rite of passage.” The goal of Unity Day is to bring together youth, parents, educators, businesses, and community members across the nation to emphasize the message that bullying is not acceptable, and that all students deserve to be safe in school, online, and in the community. Why the color orange? Unity Day is celebrated in October, and orange is a color commonly identified with the month and the autumn season. It is also a color that is associated with safety and visibility. It is a color described as warm and inviting, and its vibrancy makes an impactful statement. Why just a day? The event provides a catalyst for everyone to come together with a visual statement that our actions matter not only on one day, but every day. One young student shared that he wished Unity Day could be every day. When asked why he replied: “So that every day everyone would be nicer to me and to each other.” Pictured- OCVTS Brick, Jackson, Grunin Performing Arts Academy, and Marine Academy of Technology & Environmental Science Help Spread Awareness| Get Involved & Start Planning Now View the free Unity Day Guide featuring large scale ideas to individual action. https://www.pacer.org/bullying/nbpm/pdf/unity-day-guide.pdf Previous Next 58 PRACTICAL NURSING GRADUATES HONORED DURING OCEAN COUNTY VOCATIONAL TECHNICAL SCHOOL'S 103RD COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY JUNE 25, 2026 Ocean County Vocational Technical School State Champions Place at the SkillsUSA Nationals in Atlanta GA JUNE 18, 2025 OCVTS Career Fair Connects Healthcare Trade School Students and Industry Employers June 3, 2026 OCVTS Career Fair Brings Over 300 Trade School Students Face-to-Face with Automotive Industry Leaders MAY, 13 2026 OCVTS Hosts 5th Annual Ocean County Construction Trades Career Expo MAY 6, 2026 OCVTS Continues to Bring Workforce Leaders Together to Shape the Future of Career & Technical Education April 29, 2026 Ocean County Vocational Technical School Students Bring Home 43 Medals From New Jersey SkillsUSA Championships APRIL 21, 2026 58 Future Nurses Take the Next Step at OCVTS Capping Ceremony APRIL 13, 2026 OCVTS Hosts New Jersey SkillsUSA Marine Service Technology Championship Competition March 30, 2026 OCVTS Hosts New Jersey SkillsUSA Motorcycle Service Technology Championship Competition March 25, 2026 OCVTS Foundation’s 29th Annual International Chefs' Night Out Raises $85k to Benefit Ocean County Vo-Tech Students MARCH 11, 2026 MATES Wins 2026 Ocean County Mock Trial Championship February 25, 2026 OCVTS Leads the Charge on Unity Day to Help End Bullying Nicholas Spiech, OCVTS OCT 16, 2024 OCVTS Leads the Charge on Unity Day to Help End Bullying Previous The Ocean County Vocational Technical School District stands together in helping to create a world without bullying! • New Jersey Performing Arts High School Makes History

The Grunin Performing Arts Academy (GPAA) is honored to have its fall drama, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, selected for the International Thespian Festival—the world's largest high school theatre event. GPAA is one of just eight schools worldwide and only the second in New Jersey to receive this honor. To make this opportunity a reality, GPAA must raise funds to cover travel and production costs. PROGRAM AREA \ COURSE OF STUDY FEB 23, 2025 New Jersey Performing Arts High School Makes History New Jersey Performing Arts High School Makes History OCVTS Grunin Performing Arts Academy FEB 23, 2025 Toms River, NJ – February 23, 2025 – The Ocean County Vocational Technical School’s (OCVTS) Grunin Performing Arts Academy (GPAA) is thrilled to announce that its fall drama production, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, has been selected to perform at the International Thespian Festival, the world's largest celebration of high school theatre. This prestigious event will take place at Indiana University Bloomington from June 22-27, 2025. GPAA, a public performing arts high school, located on the Ocean County College (OCC) campus in Toms River, NJ, is one of only eight schools, worldwide, and only the second high school in New Jersey, to receive this remarkable honor. The academy offers specialized majors in Theater, Vocal, Dance, and Audio Engineering, and provides dual enrollment opportunities with OCC, allowing students to earn their associates degrees alongside their high school diplomas. "This is an extraordinary achievement for our students and our academy," said Anthony Ciccotelli, director of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, "To be recognized on an international stage is a testament to the hard work, talent, and dedication of our students and faculty. We are incredibly proud and excited to share our production with a global audience." However, bringing this incredible opportunity to life requires significant financial support. GPAA must raise funds to cover the costs of transporting the cast, crew, chaperones, sets, costumes, and props to Indiana from New Jersey. It is estimated that it will cost over $100,000 to make this momentous occasion possible. To help achieve this goal, an anonymous donor has generously pledged to match up to $10,000 in donations, so GPAA is launching a comprehensive fundraising campaign, encouraging the community to support its journey. "We are calling on our community to rally behind these talented students," said Tierney Meeker, Principal of Grunin Performing Arts Academy. "Your support will not only make this dream a reality, but will also provide an invaluable experience for these young artists." The GPAA sincerely appreciates the ongoing support of our community and is eager to represent Ocean County and New Jersey at the International Thespian Festival. We are confident that, with the community's generous contributions, we will showcase the magic of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on an international platform. PROGRAM AREA \ COURSE OF STUDY MAY 6, 2026 OCVTS Hosts 5th Annual Ocean County Construction Trades Career Expo OCVTS Hosts 5th Annual Ocean County Construction Trades Career Expo Nicholas Spiech, OCVTS MAY 6, 2026 Ocean County, NJ – The 2026 Construction Trades Career Expo, hosted by the Ocean County Vocational Technical School was a successful event that highlighted the importance of trade schools in the construction industry. The event, held on May 6, 2026, was attended by several vocational school students, high school students, middle school students, the general public, and over 60 key construction industry employers. Trade schools play a critical role in the construction industry by providing students with the knowledge and skills necessary to become skilled craft professionals. These professionals include equipment operators, carpenters, pipefitters, electricians, plumbers, welders, masons, and service technicians, among others. The construction industry relies on these skilled craft professionals to complete complex projects, and trade schools are instrumental in producing them. One of the many highlights of the career expo was the onsite interviews that were conducted by the construction industry employers. The interviews provided an opportunity for students to showcase their skills and knowledge and potentially secure employment opportunities. It also allowed employers to meet and evaluate potential candidates for their future workforce. The event also included break out panel discussions and Q&A’s covering the construction industry, employment expectations, and training opportunities. These sessions provided valuable information to attendees and highlighted the various career opportunities available in the construction industry. Panelists included representatives from Esposito Construction, Stavola, Redaelli Industries, Michael J. Wright Construction, All County Exteriors, Woodhaven Lumber, CMM Custom Homes, and National Women in Roofing. The event was held at Shoretown Ballpark, home of the Jersey Shore BlueClaws, located in Lakewood, New Jersey. The venue provided ample space for the event, including an area for the Excavator Rodeo—a competition featuring seven top heavy equipment operators from the region. Competitors included Esposito Construction, Kiely Builders, Stavola, George Harms Construction, Marlin Constructions, Earle Companies, and the OCVTS Heavy Equipment Operator Program. Vincent Durante, a student in the Ocean County Vocational Technical School’s Heavy Equipment Operator Program, was among the competitors. Congratulations to TJ Witmer and Team George Harms Construction on becoming the champions of the Excavator Rodeo Challenge. The Construction Trades Career Expo is an annual community event that is free and open to the public. The event is a testament to the construction industry's commitment to promoting educational and career opportunities. The industry recognizes that its future depends on the ability to recruit, train, and employ the next generation of skilled craft professionals. Today’s skilled craft professionals earn very competitive wages and benefits, and have access to various training and development opportunities to support their career objectives. They also have opportunities to advance into management positions or become future business owners. There are plenty of lucrative and fulfilling career opportunities in construction. The 2026 Construction Trades Career Expo was a resounding success, and the event highlighted the importance of trade schools in the construction industry. The event provided valuable information to attendees and showcased the various career opportunities available in the industry. The construction industry is committed to promoting educational and career opportunities and is looking forward to welcoming the next generation of skilled craft professionals. ___________________ About Ocean County Vocational Technical School Ocean County Vocational Technical School provides an intensive and immersive educational experience aligned with the current and emerging demands of business, industry, and advanced education. • MATES Wins 2026 Ocean County Mock Trial Championship

In a dramatic courtroom showdown, the Marine Academy of Technology and Environmental Science (MATES) claimed the 2026 Ocean County Mock Trial Championship, overpowering Brick Memorial in a gripping final round at the Ocean County Courthouse. Competing in the prestigious Vincent J. Apruzzese Mock Trial Competition, the team delivered a commanding performance that secured the county title and propelled them into the Regional Finals. PROGRAM AREA \ COURSE OF STUDY February 25, 2026 MATES Wins 2026 Ocean County Mock Trial Championship MATES Wins 2026 Ocean County Mock Trial Championship OCVTS MATES, Jennifer Hudak February 25, 2026 OCEAN COUNTY, NEW JERSEY As anxious observers filed into Historic Courtroom 1 of the Ocean County Courthouse, there was a tangible buzz of excitement in the air. Two teams had battled fiercely in the county preliminary and semi-final rounds the previous Saturday, and they were now facing one another for the coveted title: Ocean County Mock Trial Champions. After a riveting two-hour trial, presided over by the Honorable Francis Hodgson and the Honorable Craig Wellerson, the prosecution team from the Marine Academy of Technology and Environmental Science (MATES) emerged victorious over Brick Memorial’s defense. The MATES mock trial team has competed for eighteen years in the Vincent J. Apruzzese Mock Trial Competition sponsored by the NJ State Bar Foundation. This year’s case involved a swatting incident, a gaming club, and a defendant–Devon Ransom–who may or may not have made the 9-1-1 call from the Metro Perk coffee shop. Students, led by mock trial coach MATES Instructor Jennifer Hudak, take on the roles of attorneys and witnesses and must present the most compelling litigation to progress through rounds of competition. In total, the team advanced through four rounds of the competition to qualify for the Regional Playoffs. MATES students who participated are: prosecuting attorneys Isabella Sadsad and Dugan Tunney; defense attorneys Kealia Smith and Aiden Boehler; prosecution witnesses Colton Rahn, Tia Thomas, and Alexandra Kanterezhi-Gatto; and defense witnesses Kevin Nichols, Erin Morrisey, Ava Linton, and Tyler Steinbrunn. The NJ State Bar Foundation promotes two additional aspects of the competition: the Courtroom Artist Competition and the Courtroom New Reporter Competition. MATES has had student artists participate for the past eleven years, and this is the first year that students have taken part as courtroom reporters. This year’s artists were Nicole Palonnaya, Rachel Hellinger, Kataluna Buenvenida, and Tia Thomas. Student reporters were Amanda Mastrola and Emma Delhaas. In total, the students submitted over eleven sketches and two articles that will be critiqued by professionals and earn recognition ranging from Honorable Mention to First Place in the state (with an invitation to sketch or report at the national competition in Des Moines, Iowa). The team is extremely proud of its accomplishment, and after also dominating two single-elimination rounds in the Regional Playoffs, is currently working tirelessly to prepare for the Regional Finals to be held at the NJ Law Center in New Brunswick on March 18th. Coach Hudak would like to thank the students, staff, and administration for all their support over the years. A special thank you goes out to Attorney Coaches Bill Wright and Sasha Naro who work with the student attorneys and witnesses to perfect their courtroom skills. This truly has been a team effort!
