OCEAN COUNTY, NJ- On February 5, Ocean County Vocational Technical School (OCVTS) proudly hosted its Annual Open House, giving students and families an exciting inside look at the vast opportunities in Career and Technical Education (CTE). The event, held across five locations in Ocean County—including Toms River, Brick, Jackson, Little Egg Harbor, and the Ocean County College Campus—attracted 1,857 individuals. This remarkable turnout underscores the rising enthusiasm for CTE as industries evolve and the demand for practical, hands-on skills continues to grow.

The Open House served as an eye-opening platform for high school and adult learners, eager to explore the landscape of modern careers. Attendees had the unique opportunity to engage in live program demonstrations, covering a diverse range of fields such as Construction, Engineering, Computer Technology, Automotive, Health Technologies, Culinary Arts, Applied Arts, and Cosmetology. These interactive sessions provided a real-time glimpse into various skillsets, highlighting the practical aspect of CTE.

Furthermore, the event allowed visitors to tour OCVTS’s state-of-the-art facilities. These modern, well-equipped centers stand as a testament to the school’s commitment to providing top-notch educational environments. The tours offered a sneak peek into the potential learning spaces for future students.

A key highlight of the Open House was the interaction with OCVTS’s esteemed instructors and potential students. Prospective students and their parents capitalized on this chance to converse with educators, gaining insights into the courses, teaching methodologies, and the nurturing community at OCVTS. Additionally, current students of OCVTS showcased their acquired skills and knowledge through various demonstrations, setting a benchmark for what new students can achieve.

Adding to this dynamic event, popular online location radio stations, Thunder 106 and B985, were present with exciting giveaways and a prize wheel. Attendees enjoyed the chance to win t-shirts, sunglasses, pens, bags, and more, adding an element of fun to the educational exploration.
