Atlanta, GA- Ocean County Vocational Technical School District proudly announces the exceptional performance of their state champion students at the esteemed National Leadership and Skills Conference held in Atlanta, GA, from June 23-27. This event, recognized as the largest gathering of America's future skilled workforce, brought together thousands of students, instructors, business partners, and administrators to celebrate excellence in career and technical education.
The National Leadership and Skills Conference provided an incredible opportunity for Ocean County Vocational Technical School students to showcase their talents and skills on a national level. The event fostered valuable interactions with other members of SkillsUSA, allowing students to broaden their network and gain exposure to different perspectives within their fields.
With over 17,500 attendees in total, including 6,500 competitors participating in 114 diverse competitions, the conference served as a platform for students to develop their leadership abilities while learning about new technologies and advancements in their respective industries. The presence of hundreds of business and industry representatives enriched the event, providing students with invaluable industry experience and insights.
Ocean County Vocational Technical School students made an impressive mark at a national-level competition, where they competed against 6,500 participants. The school is proud to announce that two of its students achieved top rankings. Briana Naden showcased remarkable skill in the Screen-Printing Technology competition, earning 2nd place and a silver medal. Ocean County Vocational Technical Schools also celebrates Jeffrey Ni for his outstanding performance in the Related Technical Math competition, where he also secured 2nd place and a silver medal. These exceptional accomplishments highlight the students' dedication and the high-quality education provided by the Ocean County Vocational Technical School District.
In addition to these top award winners, several other students demonstrated exemplary talent and commitment across a range of skilled trades and technical disciplines. Melanye Perez, a student in the Design and Visual Communications program, represented the district in the Photography competition. Max Bass, from the Marine Service Technology program, showcased his advanced technical skills by finishing in the top 10 of the Marine Service Technology competition. Autumn Santana, a dedicated student in the Cosmetology program, competed with professionalism and creativity in the Post-Secondary Cosmetology competition. Their strong performances on a national stage reflect both their personal drive and the strength of the district’s career and technical education programs.
